11. SEARCH ENGINES
Search engines attempt to index most of the web pages on the internet. You can then search for things you’re interested in and hopefully the pages that are recommended will satisfy your thirst for knowledge.
There are a number of things you should consider when having your website created in order to get it the best search engine rankings for your specific keywords. These involve choosing the right keywords, using your keywords in your headers and body text, and a lot more.
Once your site is launched, it should be submitted to the five or so main free search engines and directories.
After you launch your site you may get lots of emails about your site not being listed in so and so search engine, and would you like to pay x dollars to have it submitted to over 300,000 search engines. These ads are basically nonsense and can be safely trashed.
If you're a professional business, you might want to consider paying Yahoo and other sites several hundreds of dollars for inclusion into their directories.
