Shopping Carts

If you're just selling a handful of items, you might not need a shopping cart for your website. But if you're like most stores, you'll probably want one. A shopping cart will let you easily manage your store's inventory. It will allow customers to shop online, sending orders to you via email.

Crunch42 utilizes different third party shopping carts depending on your needs. While Crunch42 considers the Digishop cart to be the cart of choice (find out more about Digishop), other carts may also be good options depending on your needs.

  • VIART SHOP ($129, $199, $299 versions)
This UK-built shop is packed with features, and the more expensive versions also have a built-in content management system useful for stores with lots of informational pages.
  • DIGISHOP ($349, $499, and $999 versions)
This US-made shopping cart costs a little more than the competition, but it more than makes up for the added price in its ease of use, power and scalability.
  • X-CART ($199) / X-CART PRO ($499) / LITECOMMERCE ($95)
This Russian-made cart is relatively inexpensive, however its administrative interface is slightly "clunky". If you want the ability to run an online mall and let your individual store owners manage their own inventory, X-CART Pro is currently your only option.
  • ZEN CART (free) / OSCOMMERCE (free)
These open source shopping carts are free, though you may end up paying more since they take longer to customize. They're also clunky, not very intuitive to administer, don't have certain features, and their documentation is notoriously weak.
  • CUSTOM BUILT (price variable)
If your store has some special features that no pre-existing shopping cart can handle, your shopping cart will need to be custom built.

Not sure which cart to use? Not sure if you even need a cart? Contact Crunch42 today and let's talk about it.
