The visual design of your website has a number of functions:
Some people say that the best visual designs are the ones that are invisible. They do their job so well that no one notices them. Crunch42 is generally a proponent of the understated school of visual design, though if your business requires it, the most colorful thing you've ever seen can also be created!
When Crunch42 custom-builds your website's visual design, it will be based on your color and thematic preferences, and will integrate with your existing marketing materials, if any. And importantly, it will load quickly.
Sometimes it can be cheaper to use a pre-existing visual design, or template, instead of having Crunch42 custom create a visual design. These templates can be bought for as little as tens of dollars per template, or even for free. Click here to view thousands of free templates. Note that there will still be fees associated with customizing a template for your logo, color choices, pictures, etc.
Visual designs are usually created using Photoshop and other image editing software, and then "sliced" into little pieces to be reassembled within a web page. This slicing and reassembling process is an art in itself, and ensures that your website will look right no matter what browser is used to view it.
A website's visual design often has a home page template and then a slightly modified template for all the internal pages.
