New or redesigned websites can cost as much or as little as you'd care to spend. In general, a higher budget equals higher quality: more time spent on testing, more 'uniqueness', more custom features, and more marketing. If you have a budget please mention it when contacting me.

For example, a $300 bare-bones online store and a $3,000 highly polished online store will both sell the same products, but the cheaper store will look like thousands of others, will just have a simple text logo, you'll have to enter all the product data yourself, it won't have much if any search engine work done, and so forth. Still, it's sometimes better to start small than not to start at all! More stuff can always be added later.

If your project can make use of an off-the-shelf third-party component (examples include shopping carts, blogs, calendars, and forums), it can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars. If your project can make use of offshore sub-contractors, they typically charge a fraction of what US-based native English speakers such as myself charge. Sometimes it makes more sense to outsource, sometimes not -- it will depend on the specifics of your project.

You may be wondering why you shouldn't just hire an offshore worker yourself and cut my project management fees out of the equation? Well, if you know what to ask for (bearing in mind many offshore workers use limited English), how to choose the most qualified worker(s), how to describe your project in order to ensure success, how to manage the worker(s), and most importantly how to perform quality assurance on the completed project, then by all means go ahead and leave me out of it!    : )
